Brown Bag Info Session: Fiscal Sponsorship for Art Projects

August 30 @ 11:30 am - 1:00 pm

In the city of Houston, there is a passionate community of philanthropic individuals, charitable foundations, and government institutions devoted to funding the arts, however, many of our most talented independent artists and small companies are ineligible to receive grants and tax-deductible contributions without 501(c)(3) tax status. That’s where fiscal sponsorship program comes in! A fiscal sponsor is a nonprofit organization that provides fiduciary oversight, financial management, and other professional development and administrative services to help build the capacity of charitable projects. In other words, they help you to fundraise like a non-profit without the administrative burden.

Join us on August 30th at United Way of Greater Houston to learn more about the Fresh Arts fiscal sponsorship program and how it can help you to raise more money for your creative project. We will be discussing how fiscal sponsorship works, who is eligible, and the benefits of being fiscally sponsored.

Attending workshop participants with a Fresh Arts membership will have the opportunity to sign up got a complimentary 30 minute office hour consultation to discuss your project’s eligibility for sponsorship.
