Please join us for drinks and conversation at Boheme Cafe & Wine Bar on Thursday, March 1 from 5:00 to 8:00pm for a community building happy hour where participants in the EmcArts Incubating Innovation program will come together to support the Harvey Arts Recovery Fund and share information about the work they are doing in the Houston arts community.

So enjoy a drink or two, meet the Incubating Innovation participants and learn about the work they are doing in the Houston arts community– Writers in the Schools, DiverseWorks and Fresh Arts– and take-in Boheme’s bohemian atmosphere! The proceeds from the evening will support the Harvey Arts Recovery Fund so don’t be shy, raise a glass (or three) while raising funds for an important cause.

About the Harvey Arts Recovery Fund:

The Harvey Arts Recovery supports the disaster recovery needs of the Greater Houston arts, culture, and creative community in our 10-county region. As a collaborative effort of Houston’s arts services sector, our focus is on aiding individual artists and rebuilding and restoring smaller arts and culture nonprofits by providing them with recovery and funding information. Harvey Arts Recovery is also gathering data from artists and nonprofits who have been affected by Hurricane Harvey in order to request funding from national art funders, and advocate for disaster recovery laws to be more favorable to the arts.

About EmcArts:
Founded 17 years ago, EmcArts has evolved in three phases that resemble the stages of innovation we see in cultural organizations. In 1999, Richard Evans and John McCann founded Emc.Arts LLC as a consulting firm focused on organizational change. In 2005 we reincorporated as a nonprofit with the aim of systematizing innovation and adaptive change in the arts and culture field. In 2014, EmcArts turned its attention to the social sector, creating the Community Innovation Labs to advance innovative responses to community challenges through the arts.

About Fresh Arts’ Cultured Cocktails:
Fresh Arts’ Cultured Cocktails at Boheme Cafe & Wine Bar (located at 307 Fairview St. near the corner of Taft St.) is a weekly community building fundraiser in celebration of the arts. Participating groups receive 10% of all drink sales during the 5:00PM -8:00PM happy hour. Since its inception in 2008 the program has raised nearly $110,000 for Houston Area artists and arts organizations. Fresh Arts’ Cultured Cocktails program is generously sponsored by Boheme Cafe & Wine Bar.

Fresh Arts is a 501(c)3 nonprofit dedicated to strengthening the sustainability and vibrancy of Houston’s arts sector by bolstering the capacity and professional practice of artists and arts organizations and enhancing the public’s engagement with the arts. http://www.FRESHARTS.org
