artist statement

As a process-based artist, I’m attentive to the physical aspects of art-making and respond to them as a work develops. Using materials from many sources which are collaged together, the hand is evident as a record of the making and hopefully has an impact to be read within my work.

I do not make art with machine-like anonymity that suppresses evidence of the hand, the history of the work’s evolution, or the special nature of what it is made of. I like to celebrate the act of making images that allow and draw the viewer’s ‘eye’ into an inward realm of reflection, memory and mystery.
